RCA represents the interests of its members before Congress, the FCC, as well as other federal policy-making bodies and organizations. This outreach, coupled with sustained member participation and active involvement in the political process, enables RCA to advocate on legislative, regulatory, and related issues of importance to its members.
RCA’s Government & Regulatory Committee, under the direction of the Board of Directors, works with the U.S. Congress, the FCC, Department of Homeland Security and various other agencies to educate government leaders and others about the rural wireless communications industry and the association’s policies, positions, and objectives pertaining to the industry’s critical role in serving rural America. This effort involves the AIA in a range of issues including Universal Service, network and carrier interconnection, regulation, public safety, spectrum availability, tower siting, the environment, historical preservation, small business operations, and tax policy.
