Company History: Interop Technologies is synonymous with the history of wireless communication. The company was started in 2002 by Interop Technologies founding Chairman Jim Dwyer, an iconic figure in the wireless industry, and his son, John Dwyer, current president and CEO.
Jim was instrumental in starting the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association and served on the board of directors from 1984 through 2000 and as chairman of the board in 1995 and 1996. John is a 20-year veteran of the wireless industry, having held several positions at Ameritech Cellular and serving as chief operating officer for Wireless One Network until its successful sale to AT&T in 2002.
Prior to forming Interop Technologies, Jim was involved in several successful wireless companies, and he retained the intellectual property rights for the messaging technology that became the basis for Interop Technologies solutions today. Under the leadership of John Dwyer, the company provides numerous core wireless solutions for messaging, device management and connectivity gateways. In addition to the knowledge John brings to the company, Interop Technologies benefits from a senior management team comprised of executives with decades of experience as wireless operators and suppliers.
The company has grown from the original network operations center (NOC) and data center based in Fort Myers, Florida, to a new corporate headquarters, also in Fort Myers, and a new NOC, data center and office located in Dallas, Texas. The company has increased in size from the original five team members to more than 100 employees.
