CCA Welcomes Sprint as Newest Affiliate Member
Las Vegas, NV – Today, at its 19th Annual Convention & Innovation Expo, CCA (Competitive Carriers Association) welcomed Sprint as its newest affiliate member. In the opening session of the Convention, CCA President & CEO Steven K. Berry announced that Sprint (NYSE: S) has joined CCA to help fight for issues critical to wireless competitive carriers in Washington, DC.
In a statement, Berry said, “I am extremely pleased to welcome Sprint to CCA as an affiliate member, and we look forward to working with them on all policy issues that are crucial to competitive carriers. This is a very timely addition to CCA’s membership, and a stronger membership will certainly help ensure that our voices are heard at the Federal Communications Commission, on Capitol Hill, and at the White House and other parts of the Executive Branch.”
Vonya B. McCann, senior vice president – Government Affairs, Sprint, said “The competitive carriers who make up the CCA are engines of innovation in the wireless industry. At Sprint, we have many issues of mutual concern with CCA members and we look forward to advocating for policies that promote competition and a level playing field across the wireless industry..”
Hu Meena, President & CEO of Cellular South and CCA’s 2011/2012 Chairman of the Board said, “We are pleased that Sprint has become an CCA member and that they will join our efforts to provide a vibrant wireless marketplace for consumers throughout the entire nation. I call on all other competitive carriers to join our fight to restore competition in the market and pull the industry back from the brink of a duopoly.”
